Above the Rain (AtR). The band started out with Akonya(novice drummer), Derek(bassist), Doug(experienced guitarist), and Me(beginner on guitar, but been singing for my whole life), and it turned out to be nothing but talk. Before Above the Rain, I was a solo artist under the name Angel of Life. I had experience with the flow of the music and the vocals flowing in the same current. Nowi needed a band, cause My ideas for new songs required more than what I could possibly do on my own. So I started to find more bands. Before moving to North Carolina, I lived in Georgia and attempted to start a band under the name Broken Hourglass. Once I moved I was solo for a while. Then I join or started other bands, such as Seven Steps to Serenity, Immersion, and AXA, which is where me and Akonya truely had our start with music. Its was as AtR is now... Just us two creating musical fusion. Then though we were both guitarist. For a short while AtR died down due to joining a group called Iron Forest. This band consisted guitarist and a bassist, and they were looking for a vocalist and a drummer... What are the chances right? So we joined them for a while, but it seemed as if they didn't want to creat music once we got there. Anyway a dispute broke out between a guitarist and the bassist and it was assumed that the final result was both guitarist left the band. So Akonya and I talked to the bassist, and us three became Sanitarium. That band was only a thought, and Akonya and I both knew that. Which is why we have come back to Above the Rain. This is Above the Rain's story. Its roots... and its first chapter in its rise to the Hall of Fame and superstardom. We are going to make our dream a reality no matter what it takes....
