About Band
ALBINo MoNK are a 4 piece Alt rock band from Glasgow Scotland. The band formed in late 2006 when French madman Mathieu met rhythmic mentalist Govan via mutual friends. Very quickly they realized they had many things in common.
They gelled over a love of conspiracy theories, math rock, and fine french wines and started a band known as “just nothing”, and started to jam to see if ideas would flow.
They enlisted various musicians to join them on their quest for crooked time signatures unusual tunings and the use of samplers. It took them a long time to find the right people, but after a year of hard work they finally met like-minded musicians, angular chop freak Jonny B and Yamahoon bass master Justin, and started ALBINo MoNK with the view of going out to gig in Glasgow and test out the water.
Within a couple of months they had a solid set and played at Gumbo fest music festival in the Scottish borders. Since then they’ve never looked back and have played an array of gigs across Scotland and are currently gigging, and working on their debut album to be released in late 2009.
