Apollyon formed in March of '06, and after a few months of writing and perfecting the songs, we decided to go into the studio. Although I (Jon) live in Shreveport, LA, my best friend, Tom , lives in Hot Springs, AR (about a three hour drive), it couldn't kill our dream of starting a band. He had been playing with these two guys (Eric & Greg) for a few months before we actually joined them with the band. The week  of the studio session was the first time I'd ever met our bassist and drummer and the first time they'd ever heard (let alone rehearsed) the songs we would record. After almost two days of straight rehearsal, we made our demo Rise of the Angel Black.  My personal thoughts on the demo is just the fact that it is a poor recording lacking in structure.  But for the time and effort we put into it and the awkward circumstances of our bands formation, I think its a great record. That being said, and the band agrees, this album has served its purpose for a time, but the band has changed, our attitudes have changed, plus we've found our new lead singer. So we've been working on our new material, its much more developed, lyrically and musically, and it really shows our roots. As far as a biography goes, thats about it. We've managed to travel under the radar for about a year, but maybe when the world is ready, they'll listen.

 

 *Note- for anyone in the business looking at our band, this demo was recorded 6 months ago when the band was a 4-piece. We have a new singer, so don't let the vocal styles sway your judgement.  And for the record, Eric Martin sang "Into the Abyss".  That's why it sounds different.
