-THE GOAL-
Black Chapel is a fusion of various genres ranging anywhere from classic to modern day influences. Their music is aimed toward young and old audiences, but particularly those with an open-mind and at the same time staying true to their original roots. Each band member contributes their influence not just from music, but from life experiences. And that's what Black Chapel is about. Each song carrying a story behind in the hopes that fans will relate and feel the message Black Chapel is trying to get across rather than the band trying to be heavier than others. Their goal is to bring what the music industry lacks, quality music. But getting there was not the easiest.
-HOW IT ALL BEGAN-
Black Chapel had first started off playing thrash metal. The band covered acts such as Slayer, Sepultura, Metallica, Six Feet Under, and Cannibal Corpse. They played continuously with death, black, thrash metal bands and felt just like the rest. Eventually, the band felt the need to open their horizons with a different influence to bring into the style. Something fresh, something not many people were exposed to. Progressive Metal. Determined to create a mature sound with the need to headbang, the band's first song with genius keyboardist Ben P. was entitled "Alone". Extremely pleased with the track, Black Chapel began brainstorming ideas for new songs, new topics and new influences where they felt they had created a headbanger's masterpiece.
-THE ARRIVAL-
It wasn't until a year that the band had finished composing songs such as "Sands Of Time", "Far From Real" and what many consider to be their hit " Frozen". Along with "Exhumed" and "Insanity". Rumors had already undergone about the band's break-up and various people had attempted to take the name. The band had finally returned with a mind-blowing set of heavy, symphonic, progressive, melodic metal and caught the listener's ears right away. With years of tight musicianship under their belt, Black Chapel conquered various shows and venues such as B.B Kings' Battle Of The Bands, The Whisky A Go-Go, The Roxy, The Knitting Factory, and The Joint with their new unique sound. After months of preparation, the band finally went into the studio and recorded their first demo. "Sands Of Time, 2006". With the successful self release of the recording at every show, and receiving air-play on various radio stations including in other states, the band's reputation reigned stronger than ever. Music that fans could headbang, think, feel, and sing along to as well. However, keeping their heads on their shoulders and staying focused, the band continues the hard work.
-THE PRESENT-
Today Black Chapel composes new material for the next recording, shoots the video to their track "Alone", sharing the stage with ProgPower Metallers Kamelot later in the year and expecting to tour very soon. Only time will tell, when they finally receive the recognition they've worked for, on the road to success.....
