Members of The Call range in age from 14 to 16 years old. (what follows is the groups own self description, taken from the insert of their recent CD, "Prime Cuts.") " People ask us questions. Are you a rock group? Praise/worship group? Do you play secular music? You have to be careful how you answer questions like that, or risk alienating entire groups of people. Labels can close minds, and closed minds can close doors. Non Christians may turn away if they feel like their being preached to. Likewise, many faithful Christians won't venture outside the safe boundaries of praise and worship music. Here lies the great divide. Our "call" is to try and build some bridges. Sure, air play on Christian radio would be great, but why only preach to the choir? We want all of them."
