About Artist

Apsis Lappet was created in Texas and New Mexico by former Babies on Fire vocalist Nate Kit. While attending college, he discovered he had strange sleeping habits, which amounted to a combination of somnabulism and night terrors. To try and recover from these afflictions, he relaunched his sleep schedule to better cure the screams and sleep walks. Finding that boredom wasn't his strong suit, he started playing his roommate's keyboard in the bathrooms of his dorm, and soon made his first collaborator. Together they started Babies on Fire and worked on an album for a while.

After getting kicked out of college for various reasons, he formed Koi Pond in Hell with two high school friends, Thorn Katz and David Gorran, though after arguments about the direction, Nate left to go solo. He created Apsis Lappet as a monicker to collaborate with friends and make his own music with no clear connection or sound, and make it as pop-y and accessible as he can, what amounted was a ukulele and drum machine.

Shortly after realizing there wasn't a need for a ukulele/drum machine group, he went back to the keyboard and started composing more traditional songs. He soon joined No-Source Netlabel out of Boston, Mass, and released two albums with them. About a year after the second album was released, he moved up to Mass to pursue music with a performance artist friend he made in college that goes by Clown.

Currently, he is co-producing an album with Babies on Fire producer Nick W and Clown. Apsis is also working on a dance album entitled "Bitter" and performing every now and then.

Music should sound different and tell a story, and that's what Apsis Lappet is attempting to do, be it for better or worse.
