Love & Hate, Deception & Loyalty, Struggle. Life: These are just a few powerful attributes that are behind this lyrical prodigy that is Aquene (pronounced Uh-Kwon-Nee). She first began her venture into Hip-Hop music when she was just 6 years old, being influenced by such artists as; the late 2pac Shakur, Notorious BIG, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Big L, Queen Latifah and many more. By the time she was 7, she had written several full rap songs and began to perform them either in front of family members or classmates. She describes her musical style as "Hip-Hop & B" which she claims is a mix of both the Hip-Hop and R&B; music. She brings a familiar, but almost forgotten sound back to the table; and an image that is both mysterious and laid back. She's bringing truth and meaning back into the music and she strives to bypass a statement that Nas made a few years ago when he dubbed Hip-Hop officially "dead." She rhymes with a twist of speed, coolness and finesse; being able to intertwine her voice in even the most unusual beats, making the song fit to her voice like a latex protector on a jimmy. She takes no shorts when it comes to her music; she knows what she wants, she knows how she wants it to sound and she is willing to take risks to make sure her music is accepted for QUALITY and not QUANTITY. Aquene is a quiet person; She is also an artist that is good with pencil and painting, she can cook, sew and she also aspires to be an actress. She loves to spend time with her family and close friends and in her spare time she likes to read, write songs and dance.
