Hailing from sunny Pembrokeshire in South West Wales, Ascari bring to you what they like to call ‘groove rock’; a fusion of rock, pop and funk.  The smart guitar parts, united with catchy chorus’ produce some seriously inspired crowd pleasers.

 

Now all living in Cardiff , Ascari are setting their sights on bigger and better things, aimed at reaching their goal of becoming a success in the music industry.  The move to the city intended on opening doors for the band, creating a wider fan-base and making contacts within the music business.

 

Currently booking gigs for the forth-coming months and throughout 2008 means the band have been busy behind the scenes rather than on the stage.  A 5-track demo was recorded in early August full of new material. The recording was done using equipment the band have bought with money received from various gigs etc., but the future plan is to go into the studio for a week-long session in December this year (2007).

 

The band formed in 2006 after a group of friends/musicians got together for a jam.  Some members experienced in touring, some not so, the guys have now played all around the in various venues for a variety of audiences.  Past experiences include supporting signed bands and playing at festivals for large crowds.

If the Ascari sound had to be summed up into a mixture of artists it would be a blend of Kula Shaker, Jack Johnson, Donavon Frankenreiter, Reef, G.Love and Special Sauce.

 

They all bring that similar vibe to a song whether it be through lyrics or through little guitar licks; there’s an element of that ‘groove’ in there.
